On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the first edition of Cardioteam Una vela per il cuore officially concluded. The initiative, promoted by the foundation of cardiac surgeon Marco Diena, aimed at raising awareness about heart disease prevention. The event took place at the Esperia restaurant in Turin, where invited guests, volunteers, friends, and sponsors gathered, bringing with them joy, warmth, and a strong desire to embark on a second journey focused on prevention.

During the evening, various speakers shared the story of the initiative. Marco Diena presented the main results, including more than 3,800 free heart screenings conducted on individuals aged 50 to 75, which led to the identification of nearly 40 cases of significant undiagnosed heart disease.

Regarding this, Dr. Diena said: “People were saved because they came in for check-ups, and the majority of cases were asymptomatic! Given the success of this edition, we’re ready to restart in March 2025. The new journey will take us to the ports of smaller islands, disadvantaged areas due to geographical and logistical reasons, where people often struggle to access medical facilities and consequently fail to keep track of their health.”

Doctors who actively participated in the project, along with our CEO Lorenzo Gennuso and Key Account Manager Jacopo Vassallo, shared their experiences aboard the sailboat during the months of the initiative. Following that, sailing champion Federico Michetti and the President of CUS Riccardo D'Elicio shared their valuable testimonials, opening the convivial moment of the dinner.

As partners of the project, we supported Cardioteam in organizing the event and produced promotional materials, including a “logbook” documenting the initiative and an exclusive floating keychain made through 3D printing.
